The 2011 sportwagen TDI suddenly and without warning died on my wife tonight on her way back from teaching. Im thinking its the dreaded HPFP or the intercooler icing issue. Good times ahead, thanks USAA for towing one of our cars again.
Why my wife insist on German cars is beyond me.

Take an Accord, place a MB badge on it, and then you have a clone of a C-Class with Honda reliability. My idea is faultless. She will laugh or she will kill you, either way you won't have to deal with the Germans.

my water pump (I think) is on its way out in my 530i. The last sentence really rung true with me: "why my wife insists on german cars is beyond me."
Against my advice, she keeps taking it to work. Sigh.

Butttttt butttt it's diesel it will last forever - everybody on Jalopnik
I like my TDI but there's a good reason I stayed away from the Common Rail engine. I just have to worry about the dreaded camshaft, or dreaded dual mass flywheel, or dreaded EGR cooler..... <3 that VW quality.
